My babies - Aren't they cute? Today was their monthly grooming day. They don't like it. They shake and shiver once we get about halfway to the groomers because they know where they're going. How do they know? It's so amazing the sixth sense (dog sense) they have. They can also tell things, like, if we're going to be going out of town. Do they really understand that suitcases coming out of the closet means they go to the doggie sitter? And they know when I'm sick. They'll cuddle up next to me and lick my face in a way that it seems like they're trying to make me better. Anyway, we're trying a new haircut style. They've always had the traditional poodle cut, but I saw a poodle last month that had a version of a Bichon cut. I had a Bichon that I just loved and had to put him down 2 years ago and still miss him. So I want to try this on them. It'll take a few more months to get the face fuller. I think Fergie (my little boy on the right) may look cute with the new cut, but Ellie Mae is 10 years old and her hair is thinning a little and her eyes get realy "ucky" so this longer hair around the face may not work. We'll see what happens. Notice their little 4th of July scarves.
My normal schedule is grocery shopping and errand running on Wednesday and office work on Thursday, but I had to switch it up a little this week. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't like to leave the house if I don't have to. Since the dogs were getting groomed today, I decided to get groceries and run errands in between dropping off the babies and picking them back up. And since 4th of July is Saturday and we have people over to watch fireworks, I needed the extra day to get together my list of things I needed for Saturday. But I've already started a new list of things I forgot or just thought of, so I'll have to go back out tomorrow. I hate when that happens. I'm finding it very difficult, though, to get in the outside party celebration mood because it's still cool and rainy. Everyone's mood is starting to become affected by the gloom. WE NEED SUNSHINE! They are saying Saturday is supposed to be the start of nice weather, but I'm not quite trusting them yet. Everything is so wet. The flowers in pots are getting wayyy too much water and not enough sun. They don't look as good as they should. The perennials look pretty good, but I have to keep spraying my homemade stinky deer away mixture because the rain keeps washing it off. I would normally decorate outside a little more, too, for the holiday, but I can't put too much out there. Oh well. People will still show up to watch the fireworks that are put off over the lake, and we'll have food and drinks, and everyone will still have fun. Just praying for no rain from about 4:00 pm until 10:30 pm. and I'll be happy.

Your babies are so cute and adorable. Animals are so amazing the way they read our moods and know when something is going on. Our cat gets upset when we are getting ready to leave for a few days, even before the suitcases come out of the closet.

I wish I could send you some of our sunshine, better yet trade some of your rain for sun. It hit the mid nineties today and a very slight chance of rain the first of next week.

Have a wonderful 4Th and I will do my best to push the sun in your direction.

The babies are so sweet. I think they are smarter than we give them credit for. Sometimes I swear my dog can read my thoughts.

Loved the photos. Great post.

Sadie plops down in the laundry room when she sees me grab my keys but don't ask her if she wants a ride... She loves to go anywhere! If we're hauling something across the lawn in the truck, she wants to go!

Your little fur babies are adorable in any haircut. I have a bichon now. I used to have a standard poodle. Caesar is so smart. He hates to be brushed. All I have to do is open the drawer where we keep his brush and he hides under the bed.

Precious curly babies! My Aunt Doris had a poodle named "Pepi Telstar Clemens". He wouldn't let me go near her. I so wanted to befriend him, but he loved his mama Doris so much! I now have my own bab(ies), who become very possessive. I've always wanted a poodle, though.
Hey, we're having lots of rain, too. I love it, but the Machinist gets nervy, 'cos we live near a creek and when the creek rises - well - anyway, it's a country thing.
Happy 4th July to you!

Your babies look great with their new haircuts. Ditto what SQ said: wish I could send you some sun, here it's so sunny I can't believe it. Just read that here in Washington we are headed for worse drought conditions for the foreseeable future. Just know I'm also pushing the sun your way!

Are they the cutest ever? JJ doesn't get groomed every month, and right now he looks a bit scruffy, but his appt is on the 10th....and yes, somehow he will know that we are going to the groomers.

Happy 4th of July!

Hi Nina. :) Your dogs are so cute. Mine are laying here beside me...they could use some grooming. You are so right about the way they know things. Mine always know when we are leaving the house even to run errands. My little Molly tries to hide because we lock her up when we leave. She can't be trusted.

Back in May we had rain for three straight weeks - every single day. It drove me crazy because it was dark. I'm thankful that we had it though because it made the gardens so pretty.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Oh by the way, I just got back from the grocery store and it was packed. They were out of rock salt so I will have to go out again. That's ok...I'm sure we will be needing more. That's how it works.

Please send that rain here! We're blistering in this heat, and I have this steel boot on my left leg! Your pups are sure cute. I always wanted a poodle. Hear they're really smart. I have the two Yorkies. You sound a lot like me. I try to get a lot done while they're at the groomers twice per month, as I HATE to leave the house more than anyone I know! My two dogs and two cats mean the world to me. Have a wonderful 4th, and hope you have some sun!

They are just adorable! We've finally gotten some good rain today after quite a while without any. Everything was drooping so badly!

Hi Nina,
Oh the doggies look so cute with their new haircuts and bandanas. Isn't it funny how our pets just "know" things. It makes them even more special to us.

sorry about all of the rain. We finally had a little bit today. It helped but I don't think it was enough. We're dry this summer so far.

Thanks for your kind visit.
Have a great evening.
~Melissa :)
